Further, as Albany Politicians are facing elections in 2026, this year's Albany legislative session is the optimal time to continue our pursuit of Tier Equity. In response to the membership concerns regarding Health Insurance President Shevlin has devoted himself to finding a solution. Introducing the idea of a self-insured plan and becoming a leading voice in negotiating directly with the insurance companies provided by the county to help lower costs. Our mission is to advocate for the heroic Membership of the Nassau County PBA, protecting their safety, work rules, and livelihood.

Tommy Shevlin has been President of the Nassau County PBA since 2022. Getting to work quickly he was able to restore longevity and secure a new Contract for our members. Focused on Officer Mental Health and Wellness he has brought more attention and built positive relationships with politicians along the way.

Dave Re has served on the PBA Executive Board since 2022. He has been a Police Officer for over 20 years and was an attorney prior to that. Among Dave's primary responsibilities has been all matters related to Contracts and Grievance and negotiations on discipline.

Frank Arcuri has served on the PBA Executive Board since 2022. He has served as Sgt. at Arms and 2nd Vice President. Frank has been tasked with serving as the primary liaison in Albany and is actively involved in all legislation related to Tier enhancement and legislation important to Police Officers.

Ed Eilenberger has served on the PBA Executive Board since 2022 as Treasurer. Ed has been instrumental with union finances, Members Benefits, and the implementation of the 401A plan that will save membership thousands of dollars in retirement

John Paterson has served on the PBA Executive Board since 2022 as Corresponding Secretary. While most of his responsibilities are dedicated to retired members concerns and relationships with local politicians, he has quickly developed as the go-to guy from all matters related to pensions and the NYS Retirement System.

James Shanahan has served on the PBA Executive Board since 2022 as Financial Secretary and is now running for Recording Secretary. Throughout his term he has done tremendous work with our Widows and Orphans. Especially with his oversight for Police Memorials and the PBA Golf Outing which this year earned over $100,000

Michael Vergano assumed the position of Sgt. at Arms over the summer. The former Trustee of the 3rd Precinct he has quickly established trustworthy relationships with MAO to support our membership. Serving as Chairman of the Funeral, Members Welfare, and Workers Compensation committees has been a dedicated Union Rep.

James has been a PBA Representative since 2014 and Trustee of the 2nd Precinct since 2022. He currently serves as Co-Chair of PCNY which is focused on all legislative matters in Albany. Also Chairing the Social Media/Website and Annual PBA Cigar Night. An experienced rep who can fill any role required right away.
